Infusible Ink delivers smooth, pro-quality, vibrant designs that last a lifetime. It's pare-proof, bit-proof, and launder-proof. Since information technology's permanently infused into your base material, you lot can launder and apply endlessly with no worries about peeling or flaking.
1 important notation is that Infusible Ink launched at Michaels stores this summer and is only bachelor at Michaels for now. It will be rolling out at JOANN and Cricut.com on October 1, 2019.

What Supplies do I need for Infusible Ink?
- Cricut Explore or Cricut Maker
- Infusible Ink transfer sheets or Infusible Ink pens/markers and laser paper
- EasyPress 2 or another heat source
- A polyester or poly-coated base textile (Cricut'south approved blanks recommended)
- A blueprint created in Cricut Design Space or drawn with the pens or markers

What are Infusible Ink Transfer sheets?
Cricut has launched a line of solid and patterned Infusible Ink transfer sheets. They have a range of solid colors likewise as packs of fun, colorful patterns including the Watercolor Splash pattern I used for my projects.
These are solid sheets of inks that yous can cutting into designs using your Cricut. Once cut, y'all lay the transfer canvass on your base and transfer the ink with a heat source (Cricut EasyPress 2 is recommended).
The crazy affair almost the transfer sheets is that they don't expect very vibrant out of the box but the colors are incredibly vibrant one time infused to your base of operations.
What are Infusible Ink pens and markers?
Another way to utilize Infusible Ink is by drawing designs using these special pens and markers. They comprise the same ink as the transfer sheets and come in a variety of colors so you tin putter designs, color in patterns, or insert them into your Cricut and allow it do the cartoon for you.
To use the pens, you simply draw your design on laser newspaper, lay information technology face downwards on your base, and transfer the ink using heat (Cricut EasyPress ii is recommended).
One affair to note is that your designs must exist mirrored/opposite. Then unless yous have amazing handwriting, you'll need to upload your design into Cricut Design Space and have your Cricut write it in reverse.
What base of operations materials can I use?
Cricut offers a growing assortment of blanks that are specially designed to work with Infusible Ink.
- T-Shirts – Men's, Women'due south and Kids'
- Baby Onesies
- Tote Numberless
- Coasters – Round and Square
One of the limitations of the Infusible Ink process is that it requires a polyester or poly-coated base fabric. All of Cricut's blanks accept been tested so your guaranteed bang-up results. Try this on a 100% cotton shirt and you will be disappointed.
How is Infusible Ink different from heat-transfer vinyl (HTV)?
You lot may take used heat-transfer vinyl (HTV) to create fe-on T-shirts and things before. Unlike HTV where your artwork is attached to the elevation of your base of operations with agglutinative, Infusible Ink transfers ink becomes i with the base of operations fabric itself.
If you've had trouble with HTV textile peeling or cracking in the past, yous'll dearest Infusible Ink because it will never skin, flake, wrinkle or crack. It truly becomes part of the cloth or base of operations you lot use it to.
The Infusible Ink process uses transfer sheets similar to HTV and they are both cut with a Cricut and applied to a base of operations using estrus.
Infusible Ink is non a replacement for HTV and your project may work best with one procedure over the other.
Considering Infusible Ink transfers ink directly into the base of operations material, it works all-time with lite-colored textile and bases. Since HTV adheres as a layer on height of your fabric or base, information technology tin be applied to any colour of base material.
HTV can too be applied to a huge range of fabrics and base materials whereas Infusible Ink is limited to polyester or poly-coated bases.
Which Cricut machines are compatible with Infusible Ink?
Infusible Ink is uniform with all Cricut Maker and Cricut Explore family machines, as well every bit Cricut EasyPress 2 and Cricut EasyPress. I used my Cricut Maker (aka my favorite crafting tool).

What Heating methods can I employ With Cricut Infusible Ink?
The Cricut EasyPress 2 is the recommended heat source and that is what I used for my projects with great results. Infusible Ink requires high temperatures (around 400°) and the length of fourth dimension yous utilize the heat is very specific (the EasyPress's timer comes in handy for this).
If you lot have the original EasyPress, information technology will work but it doesn't get quite equally hot every bit the newer EasyPress 2 so your results may not be as vibrant.
Cricut Infusible Ink Tote Bag Tutorial
I created a fun, colorful tote pocketbook to carry around all of my notebooks and planner supplies. If y'all're a planner girl and obsessed with role supplies similar I am, then I know you'll love this project!

Supply list

- Watercolor Splash Infusible Ink Transfer Sheets

- Standard Grip Cut Mat

- Rut Resistant Tape
- Lint Roller
- Blueprint (download mine in Cricut Pattern Infinite)
Step 1 – Cut And Describe Your Design
Open your design in Design Space and brand whatever adjustments to the size so information technology fits your tote bag. Click "Make It" and be sure to mirror everything. Select "Browse All Materials" and search for Infusible Ink Transfer Sheet.
Follow the on-screen instructions which will guide you lot through cutting out the circumvolve design and drawing the words with an Infusible Ink marker.
For the words, place a 12×12 sail of white paper onto a cut mat and load into your Cricut. Insert the blueish Infusible Ink marker into the auxiliary clench of your Cricut and press "Go". Your Cricut will depict all of the words for y'all! (Make sure your design is mirrored).
For the circle design, place an Infusible Ink transfer sheet onto a StandardGrip cutting mat, liner side down. Load the mat into your Cricut machine and press "Become". Your Cricut will cut out the circle in a jiffy.
Footstep 2 – Weed Your Design
Remove the transfer sheet from your cutting mat and weed the negative space. Infusible Ink transfer sheets are thicker than your typical agglutinative vinyl and weeding is easiest by "cracking" the cut line and using your fingers or tweezers to pull the excess material off of the adhesive liner.
Remove the discussion blueprint from the cutting mat, weeding abroad the excess paper.
Step 3 – Apply Your Design
Use your EasyPress two to infuse your design into the tote pocketbook! Ready your EasyPress two to 385°F (195°C) and 15 seconds.
Comprehend the Cricut EasyPress Mat with cardstock to protect it. Slide the mat and cardstock inside the tote pocketbook. Make sure it's centered with the tote.
Use a lint roller to clean the entire surface of the bag. Whatsoever tiny petty droppings will issue in imperfections so this footstep is of import!
Cover the tote bag with a sheet of butcher paper. Place your EasyPress 2 on top of the butcher paper and estrus for fifteen seconds to remove wrinkles and wet. Remove the butcher newspaper and allow the tote to cool completely.
Identify your circle design face downward on the tote making sure information technology is centered. The clear adhesive liner should be on top and volition stick your design in place and then information technology doesn't shift.
Identify butcher newspaper on top of your blueprint and rut with the EasyPress 2 for 40 seconds at 385°F (195°C). Have care to hold the EasyPress in place so your pattern doesn't slide effectually! If your EasyPress two is not big enough to cover the entire blueprint, repeat this procedure until all areas of your design has been heated for the full 40 seconds.
Remove the EasyPress two and allow the projection to cool completely before removing the butcher paper and transfer sail. You'll find that all of the ink from your transfer ink is gone and has literally been infused into the textile of the tote!
You lot'll come across in the below photo that when I commencement pulled up the transfer sheet, I noticed some of the ink hadn't entirely come off of the transfer sheet. I advisedly laid it back downwards in the same place and applied another round of heat and that did the fob.
The next stride is to infuse the lettering over tiptop of your circle blueprint. Place the lettering face up down on your tote, adjustment the lettering with the circle design underneath. Apply heat resistant record to secure your design into identify so it doesn't shift while heating.
Place butcher newspaper on top of the design and press at 385°F (195°C) for forty seconds. When the beep sounds, carefully lift the EasyPress and echo if necessary to oestrus the unabridged design.
Let the project to absurd completely earlier pulling abroad the butcher paper and laser paper.
Isn't this tote so cool?!
And check out the shut-up to run into how the ink literally looks like the pocketbook was bought that way. You really do get professional person-looking results!
Cricut Infusible Ink Square Coaster Tutorial
The second projection I created is a set of coasters! I was skeptical that the ink would really infuse into the coaster itself only the results shocked me. You tin can't at all see a ridge around the design, it's completely smooth and the ink really did become one with the coaster base.
The coasters follow the same process I used on the tote pocketbook only with different oestrus settings.

Stick your circle designs face down onto the white side of the coasters. Use a few pieces of rut resistant record to concur them firmly in place.
Cover your EasyPress Mat with cardstock to protect it from unwanted transfer and fix your coasters on pinnacle of the cardstock. The coasters should exist face up with the designs face down on them. If your EasyPress 2 is big plenty, you lot can rut all of the coasters at 1 fourth dimension.
Embrace the coasters with a canvas of butcher paper. Place your EasyPress ii on pinnacle of the butcher paper and heat at 400°F (205°C) for 60 seconds
Remove the EasyPress 2 and allow the project to cool completely before removing the butcher paper and transfer sheet. The coasters get super hot and so exist conscientious!
